Being
Attempting to capture the essence of an individual is a permanent challenge. I frequently find myself moved by the image of an individual lost to history, or someone that I interact with every day, and try to capture that essence in paint.
We are all so much more than what we present. Even those of us that know us best, can only read the first few pages of the book that makes us. I try to know what I can, and express that, in the hopes that the viewer may find something else to explore and dig deeper.
